Kingsbridge Girls win Yeovil U15 Tournament

Last weekend Kingsbridge U15 girls travelled to Yeovil RFC for a regional tournament against sides from Dorset, Somerset and Bristol. On a cold, windy day the Kings Girls saw off all competition, conceding just one try all day to win the tournament. On the back of winning the South West RFU Plate and reaching the finals of the Bicton &s tournament, the win at Yeovil capped off a brilliant season for the girls.

In their first match against North Dorset and Sherborne the girls won easily 34 – 0. In their second game they won even more convincingly 44-0 against Yeovil. Their third game was against Bristol Telephone RFC who did score one try but buckled under a 45 point onslaught from the Kings girls.

This win put Kings into the final which they went on to win 31 – 0. All the girls played fabulous rugby and as a team they played some of their best rugby all season, passing, rucking, tackling as a coherent unit all day. Even Richard Seal – the Head Coach – was seen to smile on one occasion!

Thanks to all the parents who braved the cold conditions to support the girls.
