Last Sunday Kingsbridge RFU Under 11’s travelled to Newton Abbot in poor conditions in an attempt to maintain their so far unblemished record against the considerably larger squad of Newton Abbott.

Kingsbridge started well, and quickly set the scene for the morning with a well executed try from Rhys Stevens. Rhys was also involved in the second try by providing a great pass to George Royle. With Max Ferguson and Otis Morgan controlling the backs and some great tackling by Tom Partridge, Jago Wilson and joe burner, Harry Rodwell burst for the line from 10 yards out to make it 3.

Rhys then strolled over the line for his second of 4 try’s for the day. Final try of the half was a great effort from Josh Perrett.

This obviously wasn’t what Newton had in mind and it was a considerably more resolute 9 who lined up for the second half. After a great series of passes however Max jinked over the line to spill more wind out of the Newton sails. After a maul and great work from Tom Winzer the ball was passed out to fullback Stan Gerrard who made it two.

Archie McKenzie and Matthew Hill both had great games but special mention of the week goes to Oliver Dudley who excelled. With Finley Roberts working well as scrum half and Harry Jones continuing to find his feet, Stan cruised down the wing again and popped a great pass to Max who made it 3

A third quarter was played during which Kingsbridge strolled in another 4 try’s.
