Kingsbridge RFC U12         20 – 0            Newton Abbot RFC U12

The sun shone gloriously on High House as the Kings ran out for the final time in what has been a hugely successful season. The visitors had recently been runners up in the Devon Cup, so the Kings knew that this was going to be a tough encounter.

However, Kingsbridge were in no mood to play second fiddle, and produced a blistering performance that Newton Abbot had no answers for. With Louis and Daisy creating havoc in the ruck, and Joe R firing quick ball out to the backs, the visitors found themselves on the back foot for the majority of the game. The Kings piled on the pressure from early on, leading to Sammy opening the scoring from short range. Callum then followed on with a trademark barnstorming run for the second, before adding a third following an interception after a crunching tackle by Ben Banner.

The second half saw more of the same, with Sammy finally securing his brace with another darting run. A second match was played that resulted in the same scoreline with two more tries for Sammy, one for Callum and one for Joe R. A fitting end to a season where the squad has played some dazzling rugby, and developed an incredible team spirit.

An emotional farewell was bade to Daisy, Molly and Izzy (in her absence) who move on to girls rugby, and huge thanks was passed to the dedicated and committed coaching and management team, without whom the team could not have developed the strength they have.
